Hey everyone! It’s been a while. lol
What a year and a half it has been, and not just because of the pandemic. As an author/writer that time was filled with a lot of ups and downs. Near the end of 2019, I decided to write a novella that is a part of my An Unexpected Life series, and for the first couple months of 2020 everything was great. The words and “chapters” just flowed out and I was pretty sure it would be ready for release by late spring/early summer. Then with 3 “chapters” to go, one of the worst things for a writer happened… Writer’s block. Try as I might, over the next few the progress basically came to a halt. Sure scenes for those last few “chapters” would pop in my head and I’d write them down, of course, but nothing flowed together.
So for the next few months, I wrote random scenes when they came, all the while hoping the words would flow again soon. Around the same time, alternate scenes for a handful of scenes in my book series made themselves known, so course I wrote those down, too.
After another few months of nothing new happening, I decided to look into how to write a screenplay. I honestly didn’t expect to go anywhere. I was just hoping it would kick-start my brain again, and it did, but not in the way I expected.
When I started writing the screenplay and slowly going through Book 1, I changed a few things here and there from the book and even added a few things to the screenplay that weren’t in the book. As I continued to write the screenplay, the alternate scenes I had written down months before started yelling at me again. Problem was, I wasn’t even close in the screenplay to where those scenes would be. So I started to wonder what else I could do.
Another few months went by with my writer’s block still in place (sadly), but I had an idea.
More soon… 😉
